Historic Christian Faith: We follow a long line of faithful Christians in affirming historic, evangelical Christian belief. A good guide to our theological understanding is the 1689 Philadelphia Confession of Faith here.
In summary, we teach that ...
Christianity is Christ. Christians are united to Christ, so that the Christian life flows from him to his glory.
Christianity is a declaration of good news. We receive and pass on the Good News that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself.
Christianity is a revelation. God speaks. He spoke ultimately in his Son, Jesus Christ. God's Word is revealed and preserved for us in the Bible. In the Word, we read about God's plan to rescue a people for his own glory through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christianity results in action. Jesus taught a way of life that flows from our union with him. It is a God-centered life of faith, love, justice and courage in the power of the Holy Spirit.
