Historic Christian Faith: We follow a long line of faithful Christians in affirming historic, Reformed, evangelical Christian belief. We affirm the content of the Nicene Creed and the 1689 London Confession of Faith, as well as the various statements of faith found here. We like the Gospel Coalition website's articles on the essentials of the Christian faith.
The Priority: We believe that the most important thing in the world is the recovery of worship; that is, men and women responding with their whole lives to God as supreme, holy and glorious in his being and actions.
Salvation: We believe that Jesus Christ saves; that is, he rescues us from false worship and from God's just anger against sin, he awakens us to the splendor of God, he makes us righteous before God, he restores us to God as adopted children, he sets us free from our slavery to sin, and he empowers us for lives of love for God and neighbor. Jesus Christ has called us to participate in the new creation as a community of God's people, the church. How is this salvation achieved? Only through the life and finished work of Jesus Christ as it is applied to us by the Holy Spirit.
The Solas: We believe that salvation is by grace (a gift from God) alone, through faith alone, because of Christ alone, as revealed in the Bible alone, to the glory of God alone. To read further on this, check out this excellent article by James Montgomery Boice.
Christianity is Christ. Our work is to teach and support one another as we make the person and work of Jesus central to our lives.
Christianity is a declaration of good news. Our work is to declare that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself.
Christianity is a revelation. God speaks. He spoke ultimately in his Son, Jesus Christ. God's Word is revealed and preserved for us in the Bible. Our work is to hear and apply what God has said.
Christianity is action. Jesus taught a way of life - a way of God-centered faith, love, justice and courage. Our work is to do it in the power of the Holy Spirit.
