Monday Rewind - April 3, 2017
I didn’t preach at the Cornerstone yesterday, so I don't have a review of a sermon.
However, I'm spending this week with our high school students and teaching them every day. This year's topic is some very practical teaching on conflict resolution.
Lord willing, the students will learn from the Bible about the causes of conflict, the typical responses to conflict, and the godly response to conflict. My goal is that the students will learn to take responsibility for their actions, offer genuine apologies for wrongdoing, and make peace with those they have hurt, or those who have hurt them.
The theme verse for the week is, "“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” - Romans 12:18 NIV
About 20 years ago, I attended a conference on conflict resolution led by Ken Sande, the founder of Peacemaker Ministries. It was very helpful and I’ve tried to use the principles in my life (not always very well). I highly recommend Peacemaker resources to everyone.
